02Our story
Jero Farm was founded in 2024 by Ngurah Heru Wijaya, a former executive chef at Alila Seminyak, with a career spanning luxury hotels and cruise ships.
After two decades in professional kitchens, he kept hitting the same wall: hotels across Bali couldn't reliably source genuinely free-range eggs close to home. He built Jero Farm to close that gap — bringing a chef's standards for consistency and quality to how eggs are produced. The name “Jero” carries Balinese meaning: closeness to local values and respect for the land we farm.

We put animal welfare and natural living conditions first, following the local Balinese farming practice we grew up with.

Fermented feed04Sustainability
Practical, everyday choices that keep the farm healthy and the impact low.
We collect surplus seafood from some of Bali's best restaurants and surplus sourdough, then ferment it all into a nutrient-rich feed for our hens. Fermentation transforms food that would otherwise go to waste into a highly nutritious diet, reducing food waste while helping us produce fresh, locally grown eggs with a smaller environmental footprint.
The hens have real space to roam freely and behave naturally, in tune with Bali's tropical surroundings.
Our waste systems keep environmental impact low and make the most of every resource on the farm.
